Katy Warren

Katy Warren is currently the Department Manager for Software Solutions and Technologies.  Her 60-person department delivers high-value software solutions for national and global problems, improving healthcare, national defense, intelligence, homeland security and the economy.  They support innovations in cloud computing, DevSecOps, Agile development practices and national IT policy.  She has been leading cloud engineering at MITRE since 2013, building and maturing MITRE’s capabilities and providing leadership to Federal Government agencies at the CIO level.  From 2020 – 2021, Katy was the Chief Engineer for a national coalition fighting COVID-19.  She is former Chair and current senior advisor for MITRE’s Women’s Council, which is dedicated to gender equity for MITRE employees.  Katy is a continuous learner, and loves working with great people tackling new challenges.

 

Katy has a BS in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary, and an MS in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.  She currently teaches Systems Engineering for Cyber Security majors at George Mason University.
